This application form is for the Greening the Screen Development Fund. Before completing this application form, please read the Application Guidance Document.

Up to £50,000 will be available to Welsh climate conscious freelancers and businesses to develop ideas for sustainable solutions to the challenges of net zero and the decarbonisation of the screen sector in Wales.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Seed Fund 2024*

You must be eligible for ALL 3 points in order to be considered for this funding.

Please see our grant funding eligibility criteria in our supporting information. If you are not eligible for Minimum Financial Assistance, please get in touch via email: media.cymru@cardiff.ac.uk

In this application you will be asked to declare your eligibility to receive funding via the MFA route.

To establish your eligibility, we require you to confirm that the addition of our grant funding plus additional support (valued at no more than £2,500 as outlined in the Subsidy Control section in our Guidance Document) does not exceed your £315,000 limit for MFA across the 'applicable period’ of three financial years.

Baseline Survey

You are required to fill in the Baseline survey before progressing with your application.

The aim of the survey is to create insights into the size, composition and innovation capabilities of the Cardiff Capital Region’s media sector and beyond.

Answers will be analysed confidentially, and the information will be used for internal use and sectoral analysis only and not for assessment of your application.

Research and Development (R&D) Project Details

7. What is your proposed duration for the project in months?*

Your project should last between 6 – 12 months if you're requesting funds of £25K or 9-12 months if you're requesting funds up to £50K.

8. Please demonstrate how your R&D project activities are achievable in the timeframe you have proposed.*

It is important that you demonstrate a clear and achievable timescale for key deliverables. You may wish to use key dates and project milestones to answer this question.

9. What is your estimated budget for the R&D phase?*

We are offering between £25,000 and £50,000 for this round of funding.

10. Please provide an indication of the kind of costs you are likely to incur in the delivery of your project through the R&D phase.*

This budget is provisional. You will be asked to provide a more detailed budget at a later stage if your application is successful, with guidance as needed.
